Mobile app waiting room before a virtual visit
Recently I have made a concept, let's call it an experiment, to replace a native Zoom waiting room with a more patient-friendly one. Unfortunately, this experiment will likely stay as an experiment for a little longer because of technical limitations, but let's not lose hope that easily.
Make the waiting a little more enjoyable.
The whole goal of the redesign was to keep patients engaged throughout the waiting time, but if they decide to put the phone away, still communicate with them and update the status of the visit.
So, to make that happen, we switched from the blank screen with a camera test to a timeline communication when the doctor/clinic could send more or less automated messages to the patient, update the waiting time or even propose some time-consumers like in-app games or articles.
The idea that helped to shape this was to try to mimic the actual clinic waiting room situation inside a digital app - when nurses are running around and keeping you informed, and you have some magazines to read and some simple games to play.
I hope you find it helpful!
