Nevermined: Personas, User Journey Mapping & Wireframing
Intro
Nevermined are a web3 platform looking to create a new product for their users to buy and sell NFT and dataset subscriptions.
Brief
To define user personas, map their journeys through the existing MVP version of the product. From that map; create a series of more accessible wireframes that offer a more engaging user experience to all users.
User Personas
My first task was to create a set of user persona cards based on documentation I was given by the client. I defined 3 core user types: Traders, Publishers, and Consumers. The Publishers only sold on the platform, Consumers only bought and Traders bought and sold.

The above user journey chart maps the four different personas, and 3 different user types as they experience the product. This allowed me to cross reference their Actions, Needs, Pains, Feelings and Touchpoints with all different screens and flows. I could then problem solve short and long term improvements to the product based on the different rows and columns on the map. The long term and short term improvements would then become my prioritised backlog for designing the new and improved product wireframes.
Dashboard Inspiration
The existing product dashboard wasn't showcasing any information about user cashflow, essential info for all user types. So I took some inspiration from these different fintech dashboards and designed some infographic and headline number components for a new dashboard design.
Dashboard
I created a few variations of the Dashboard with a grid of cards and custom infographic components illustrating key headline data relevant to all user types.
In the first Dashboard version, to gamify onboarding for new users hitting the dashboard as their first touchpoint I added a 3 step profile creation component to guide them through their first 3 major tasks.
The horizontal transactions cards flag incomings and outgoings.
The 3 dot menu is so the dashboard can be customised to suit the different user types, for example Publishers may not be interested in infographics intended for buyers, so they could swap that card in their dashboard for a component more relevant to the selling experience.
After some client feedback I created a second design for the dashboard with a sticky Wallet balance sub header that could be added to any page so the user could always see their balance at a glance.
I found out that the client was going to be marketing to Publishers first as their initial users so I redesigned the components to be more relevant to that initial user group.
Onboarding & User Guidance Inspiration
I took some inspiration from Metamask's browser extension onboarding flow. In particular how they use simple Tooltips and Modals to deliver guidance to brand new users, and guide existing users about brand new features.
Modals & Tooltips
Above is an example of using a modal to onboard a new user. Below is a Tooltip used to guide the user around their widget creator interface. Widgets can be embedded in Publisher's websites to sell their asset subscriptions.
Creating a plan
I reused the styling of the account creation component for guiding the user through creating a new plan. I designed a card for the 3rd screen to showcase the price, title, duration, tags and asset type of the plan users could subscribe to.
In the final screen in this flow, I also designed a header component where the cover image of the asset (dataset) sold via the plan could be seen within the 'window' of the cover image of the plan card component.
Asset Creation
The same component was also reused on the New Asset flow to create a new dataset that could then be linked and sold via a subscription plan. The final stage of the asset creation generates the asset as a card.
Assets
Multiple Assets are collected as cards on the Assets screen. These Assets were based on persona data provided by Nevermined that Muddy Waters would be publishing and selling via subscription plans. On hover the user could also see the total revenue generate by that asset and how many subscribers are paying for the data.
Plans
Multiple plans are also collected as cards. In the window of the card cover image users can again see the assets that the plans are linked too as well the price.
Marketplace
The Plans and Assets card components were also reused in the Marketplace.

The marketplace card components were combined with a graphic illustrating how users can sell assets via plans on the marketplace to generate a passive income.
