visual identity: easter + good friday

I know, I know. Easter was two months ago... but it's never too late to share your work, so here we go!

With Easter coming on the heels of finishing Veritas' two-part sermon series studying the bookends of the Bible, Genesis and Revelation, I wanted to pull out a theme from that series and tie it to the Easter Story. What was that theme? Clouds! ??

In Revelation, Jesus' second coming is described as "coming on the clouds" with rays of glory radiating from him. On Good Friday, Matthew 27:45 says the land was covered in darkness for three hours - likely meaning the sky was stormy, dark, and ominous as Jesus' last hour drew near. ???

And then on Easter Sunday, "the first day of the week was dawning" as the first witnesses of Jesus' resurrection (women!!) encountered the empty tomb. ??? Finally, after Jesus visits his disciples for many days, he ascends back to Heaven in the clouds... where we make it full circle back to Revelation and await his second coming! ???

The visual identity wasn't just for the screen on Easter Sunday - it was also used to communicate the event weeks ahead of time on social media, newsletter, website, and on stage.

Check out my fav part: having the service times floating in the sky as a social post! Probably the prettiest way I have ever communicated something as boring as a meeting time ??
