Vague Future

The future is unpredictable. Everything can get worse when it seems the limit has already been reached. And happiness may come unexpectedly, which we, as usual, fail to notice. Retro-futurism allows us to imagine how people in the past viewed the future, sometimes with anxiety and sometimes with hope. This leaves us with the eternal debate: should we always expect the worst and be prepared for it, or is it better to hope for the best and enjoy the present?
