One of the reasons why I love my job is because its a blend between art aesthetics and technical crafting. I always get so excited to figuring out how to set up things up. Of course animating 132 bits to display phrases and colors would have been a nightmare to animate manually so I had to develop basic controllers to direct the output of the board.

3D Bit Rigging

The technical challenge to set up this rig really came from each bit having 64 flaps and assigning materials front and back of each flap. Thanks to C4D's mograph cloner it was easy to set up the controlled flip.
