Anagh Banerjee for The Folio Society

Here is Anagh Banerjee unboxing an illustrated edition of Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali. Over the last year, Anagh has worked with The Folio Society on the creation of this little masterpiece. The book was released on Tagore's birth anniversary (May 7), and working on it had a special meaning for Anagh, who is from Mumbai.Tagore became Asia's first recipient of the Noble prize in literature with Gitanjali, He was a poet, a songwriter, composer, visual artist and a playwright. He was a philosopher and an educator who played an important role in laying the foundations of an independent India.This edition has an introduction by novelist and poet Amit Chaudhuri as well as the original introduction by W.B. Yeats from 1913. Anagh created 6 woodcut illustrations and the binding, printed with great care at the SVA print shop.
