Chestnut Ridge Eichler Homes community - custom artwork

Did you know there are actually Eichlers outside of California? Well, believe it or not, there are! Out of the roughly 11,000 homes built by Eichler Homes and its short-lived predecessor, only 3 were ever built elsewhere - all the way on the other side of the country in what is now the little village of Spring Valley, New York.

Joseph Eichler purchased 140 acres of land back in 1962 with the intention of building a 216 home development. But after the first 3 homes were built, it became apparent just how unprofitable the endeavor was, so it was abandoned. To this day, those 3 Claude Oakland and Jones + Emmons designed Eichler Homes still stand, and they still look amazing.
