Blue Heart - Collage #1
UQ’s latest collaboration with Patagonia is live. The Blue Heart of Europe is a region in the Balkans known for its rich history and diverse ecology. Thousands of hydropower projects are planned to be built, threatening the last wild rivers in Europe and local communities.
UQ was tasked with the overall look and feel of the Blue Heart campaign. The truth is dams cause immense destruction to surrounding communities, wildlife and ecosystems. The torn paper texture alludes to the communities being torn apart, while also conveying the fragility of the natural world.
We started with a rich library of images from the Patagonia Blue Heart team. The images were printed, carefully torn, scanned and pieced back together to create each scene.
