The Ottewill's Double-Folding Camera

Thomas Ottewill, known for his impeccable craft and high quality, designed the first ever Double-folding camera. Most cameras in the 1850's were bulky and near impossible to transport. Most photographers just photographed in their studios. Ottewill's invention, though it bankrupted him, helped pave the way for portable cameras. Perhaps Ottewill's most well known customer, Lewis Carroll, wrote about the camera which he used to photograph Alice Liddell, the inspiration for Alice in Alice in Wonderland.
