Susan

This illustration was created to be a delighter element. It accompanies the submitted portion of the contact page for the Underbelly website. This illustration is more a result of Underbelly's illustration guid-lines apposed to my own style, but it is pretty close. Susan actually started out with no color in her face and hands, and had blue hair. We decided that instead of conceptual representing "all" ethnicities with having no color in the skin and blue hair, we would give her a specific skin and hair color. We did this because we wanted to be timeless and present a stronger representation of people. This is also why she's anatomically proportional. All this was done to try to make an illustration that is easy to relate to, and wouldn't be time stamped by any specific style.
